There’s a new ice cream parlor in downtown and in their own words, “…it’s doggone awesome!” Sweeten your day with a scoop or two of delicious ice cream from Tess’ Place Decatur today, tomorrow or even on Saturday.

In case you haven’t heard the exciting news, Tess’ Place Decatur officially opened their doors during May’s 3rd Friday Downtown Decatur!
That evening they only offered ice cream. Today, guests are treated to a menu full of goodies! We’re talking bowls of ice cream, sugar cones of ice cream, one-, two-, three-scoops of ice cream, ice cream floats, shaved ice and gourmet sodas.
Ice cream flavors range from the usual to unofficial local favorites like Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle. Shaved ice can be ordered with a flat top, round top or a snow cap. Flavors range from Bahama Mama to coconut to key lime pie to red velvet cake.
As for those gourmet sodas, guests can sip a specialty blend soda.
For example, if you order “The Old Decatur,” your taste buds will be treated to an explosion of flavor! It all starts with Dr. Pepper, regular or diet.
Then you add in some flavor—coconut, peach, raspberry and vanilla. Finally, mix in some cream and yum—meet The Old Decatur.
Fun fact, all the gourmet sodas come with names that mean something to Decatur. There’s The Mallard, The Old State and The River City, just to name a few.
What’s more, all this sweetness can be bought for $5 or less! And one more dash of sweet news, they recently launched a loyalty program. Buy 10 ice creams and get the 11th free!

For a sweet treat named for a sweet French bulldog, head to Tess’ Place Decatur located at 324 Second Ave. downtown. Did we mention Tess’ Place is pet-friendly and dogs can get treats and Pup Cups too?
Tess’ Place is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday hours are from noon to 9 p.m.
